Day 2 Completed
After just over eight hours on Day 2 of the 2020 PokerStars WCOOP-16-M: $1,050 NLHE Thursday Thrill Special Edition, "IHackedRNG" has gone away with their first WCOOP title and $145,278 in prize money which included $71,611 in bounties. The tournament attracted 1,048 entries on Day 1 to create a prize pool of $1,048,000 with most of it handed out on Day 2.
"IHackedRNG" seems to have won several events on PokerStars already with tournaments like the Big $109s and $215s, Hot $11, Bounty Builder $215 and $33 already under their belt but they get to add one of the most prestigious ones to their scores now with this win here today. "IHackedRNG" defeated Tomas "MASUR0N1KE" Kubaliak heads-up who laid claim to $80,783 for finishing in second place.
They were joined by Gabriel "gtavares10" Tavares, "Schildy1984", "zerodeda", Kelvin "kelvin_fp:ar" Kerber, "olibullrider", Dmitry "yurasov1990" Yurasov, and "Storimos" on the final table.

Out of all those entries, 127 players got paid and 108 of them returned today to battle it out on the virtual tables. Mike "goleafsgoeh" Leah, Andras "probirs" Nemeth, Killian "caaaaamel" Kramer, and Jon "luckyfish89" Clark all fell before the first break of the day. By the time the second break came around, only 38 players were left with familiar faces like Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson, Joao "Naza114" Vieira, and Marc "14alonso14" Macdonnell failing to win their final all-ins.
Another hour later, Day 1 chip leader Matheus "ThugWaffle" Resende and Fabian "!$eveeeeeeen!" Gumz were both taken out in one hand by "Schildy1984". Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski and Dylan "ImaLucSac" Linde were both taken out to get the tournament down to the final three tables.
Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver had another deep run but fell in eleventh place when he was down to his last two big blinds after losing a three-way all-in where he had both "IHackedRNG" and "Storimos" covered while holding tens. "IHackedRNG" tripled up with a rivered set of queens while "Storimos" stayed alive with the aces. He then lost the rest to the latter too to prevent him from winning his third title as he won WCOOP-10-M: $1,050 NLHE Super Tuesday for $149,968 only two days ago.
"Grozzorg" bubbled the final table when they called the three-bet shove of "IHackedRNG" with ace-jack. The ace-ten of the latter found another ten on the flop to get the tournament down to nine with "IHackedRNG" and "zerodeda" in the lead with almost twice as much as the players in third and fourth place.
"IHackedRNG" held the chip lead for most of the final table but increase it when they scooped a huge pot worth almost 73 big blinds when they took out "olibullrider" in seventh place with queens against ace-queen while "Storimos" and Yurasov had already been eliminated before. "IHackedRNG" doubled Kubaliak up to lose a big chunk but quickly managed to increase the lead again.
Kerber fell to Tavares with "zerodeda" going next, thanks to "IHackedRNG". "Schildy1984" had been short for a while and doubled up a few times and even tripled up once but not for much before they busted in fourth place. "IHackedRNG" had almost 60% of the chips in play before doubling up Kubaliak again before taking out Tavares with sixes again kings. "IHackedRNG" turned the straight to get the tournament to the heads-up phase.
"IHackedRNG" held 60% of the chips again and kept the pressure on Kubaliak before the latter finally made the call for his last 14 big blinds with ace-deuce. "IHackedRNG" held king-jack when the board ran out [jack-deuce-trey-six-five to deliver the win to "IHackedRNG".

Imagine this. Youre winding down your poker session, playing the last game of the night, casually streaming to a handful of Twitch viewers.
Then you win a WCOOP title.
Thats exactly what happened to Martin Marksman_M Thien Wu, winner of the WCOOP 05-M: $55, 8-Max PKO.
I caught up with Martin for a chat about his time at the tables that fateful evening.
One of the stories that really stood out was how he started playing poker in the first place (more on that later). The fact that he streamed the win live on Twitch makes Martins journey even better. Only a few lucky witnesses were there to see it live as Martin claimed his place in history, not only as a WCOOP champion, but as a streamer too.
The two players have gone for another short 5-minute break.
