Yam Pushes Off Sorokin to Take Lead
The field has climbed to 19 with the arrivals of Xioling Li, Ken Okaea, Aki Virtanen and Antii Halme all taking their seats.
We caught the latter involved in a hand, though it was Hoang Long Do who kick started proceedings with an early position limp before Halme made it 500 to go from the cutoff.
Maxim Sorokin (button) re-raised to 1,750 and the action was on Edward Yam in the small blind. Yam let the shot clock tick down to 5 seconds before announcing raise and slid out a chunky cold three-bet of 6,750.
While this was enough to get Do and Halme to bow out Sorokin was not deterred and made the call to take play heads-up to a flop of .
Yam did not take long to lead out for 5,000 and Sorokin quickly folded leaving Yam free to scoop in a sizable pot without showdown and the Hong Kong player climbed to 89,000 to take an early lead.
