Kyle Julius is an American professional poker player from Naperville, Illinois. Julius is best known for his runner-up finishes in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event at the 2012 World Series of poker for which he collected almost $600,000, and at the 2012 EPT PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event for $1.5 million.
Intro
Kyle Julius was born in 1987 in Naperville, Illinois. During his high school years Julius stood out as a talented basketball player and was even recruited by the Illinois Central College to play for their team. Julius started playing poker at the age of 18 after he learned the game from his older brother Ryan. Kyle picked up the game pretty quick and started grinding at the online tables. Soon enough he was able to build a bankroll of $100,000. The winnings continued to roll in and in the first three years of playing online Julius managed to make $2.4 million. He eventually decided to quit college and pursue a career in poker.
World Series of Poker
Julius first appeared at the World Series of poker in the summer of 2010. He cashed in two events in his first WSOP for a total of $32,000 in winnings. Then two years later Julius increased his record to eight money finishes including the 14th place finish in the WSOP Europe Main Event. His best result was the second place finish in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event for which Julius collected almost $600,000 in cash.

World Poker Tour
Julius boasts three WPT money finishes so far, the best of which was the 12th place finish at the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic $10,000 Championship event in 2011. Julius took home almost $40,000 in cash for his achievement.

European Poker Tour
Julius has two EPT cashes to his name both of which he scored at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. In 2011 he placed 180th in the $10,000 PCA Main Event taking home $17,500. He did much better, though when he came back to the Paradise Island a year later. At the very beginning of the year 2012, Julius fell just close of his first EPT Main Event title. He lost the final battle to John Dibella and went home with a second place prize of $1.5 million.
Other Achievements
In June, 2010 Julius finished third in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em event at the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III in Las Vegas collecting $65,861 in prize money. Then in September, 2012 he placed 31st in the Partouche Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event in Cannes taking home €29,990 in cash.
