Axel Hallay hails from Angers, France, who has live poker tournament results dating back to June 2018.
Hallay's first in-the-money finish at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) came in 2018, when he navigated his way to a 238th-place finish in the $10,000 Main Event, a finish worth $42,980. The prize Hallay won for his deep WSOP Main Event run remained his largest score for 12 months until the Frenchman finished third in the $800 No-Limit Hold'em Deep Stack at the 2019 WSOP. Hallay banked $134,817 that day as he narrowly missed out on a coveted WSOP bracelet.
The Frenchman's annual pilgrimage to the WSOP resulted in another final table appearance in 2021. Hallay finished sixth in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Fifty Stack for a $61,550 payday.
Hallay reeled in a then career-best $162,627 for a fourth-place finish in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event at the 2022 WSOP.
His victory in a 2,500 buy-in event in his native France in September 2022 came with 136,000 ($130,829) and remains Hallay's sole recorded live victory.
